So, it's been a few months since an update. Partially because I've been a little busy in my life, but mostly because I ran out of steam. Going forward, I think I will try to write an entry once a month.
A few things have happened in recent months, some good, some bad. I had a hard time around December particularly. I ran out of medication and, due to a weird mix up, I wasn't able to get an emergency prescription as promised. I got myself so worked up about it, that my Mum ended up intervening and sending what was probably a very scary message for the doctor, warning that it was potentially dangerous if I went without my medication for this long. It must have worked, as they sorted it pretty quickly after that.
After convincing myself over Christmas that I would be quitting my job in the new year, I decided to reduce my hours instead. It was probably the right decision. Although I do have a fair bit in savings, it'll be good to not have to delve too far into them to get by. Not that the money I'm getting there goes very far. They gave most of us a pay cut last month, which went down as well as you can imagine. I'm using the extra time to look at a few Universities and seek some extra work more suited to what I intend to study (hopefully in archives or something similar). It'll be nice to do something I actually enjoy for once.
Some more upsetting news is that my Grandma's 17 year old cat has an untreatable tumour. We don't know how long we have left with her, but we're taking it one day at a time. It's hard to watch any family pet go, especially one I've known for more than half my life. I feel a little bit up and down at the moment. I can only imagine how my Nan is feeling about it. I know that we're very lucky to have had her as long as we have and she has lived a good long life (particularly given that she's a bengal with a fair amount of health issues). I just don't want her to suffer overly.
The picture of her here is from a few years ago.
